When it come to Beginner’s in Building Audio Amplifier, the LM1876 from National Semiconductor (NS) is a good startup hardware. As explained earlier, it was dedicated for AHS (Audio Hardware Starters), the first timer to build an Audio Amplifier with the following :
- 99.9% success build
- Plug and Play with no further tuning
- abundant technical resource
- Circuit Description, Assembly & Testing
- explained in Taglish (Tagalog-Filipino)
- Hardware full-package (except the Transformer)
It was also packed with options to be used by a host Microcontroller to make the hobby more interesting, and it was voted to be used for the Digital Audio Tone Control (DATC) – the first digital Tone Control that I designed.
Even if you will not build this AHS-DAB project, you are free to download the Publication that I made, Click to download the DIY Issue 04 in PDF format : 2.76 Mbytes (if you cannot download it for any reason, kindly email me with your request for the PDF on the email subject, and send to dandymenor@hotmail.com, Salamat Po!). It discusses :
- Audio Building Block (Music Source to Speakers)
- Design Considerations
- Block & Schematic Diagram
- Bill of Materials
- Assembly Instructions
- Preliminary Test
- Final Test
- Electrical Performance Test
- Final Application
- Casing
Here is the Hardware KIT VERSION that I prepared, where elementary and high school student love to avail as Easy, Affordable, Fast & Fun [EAFF] way to build a school project.
The kit maybe (or maybe not) available now, but anyhow, if not available, you may like to build this Amplifier as I did when I am discovering the LM1876F, see my DIY build on the Universal PCB.
Alright! You got one AHS hardware from 1diySHARE.com, goodluck and see you in the next project. Cheers!
